Bitten!

And I'm not talking about the creepy dark fantasy vampire kind.
I'm talking about a horse named Scarlet. There I was at work walking the horse around the round pen for a birthday party group when all of the sudden Scarlet reaches forward and bites me... hard! A couple horses have taken nips at me, but until Saturday, none had succeeded in actually getting ahold of me. There were several words going through my head that I wanted to yell and several things I wanted to do to Scarlet in that moment, but since there was a child in the saddle and other keiki and parents watching me, there wasn't much I could do but keep walking around and looking happy.Although it didn't stop me from having a wonderful Sabbath day.

Valentine's Day!

So on Valentine's Day we went to the Laie Temple with Hannah and Jarett and took pictures. It was a gorgeous day!

Look familiar? That's my "postcard" picture before I played with the colors.

Aren't they picture perfect?

I don't think our children have any hope for round eyes.

What all can you do with an old husk you find?
Use it as a weapon...
Make a fashion statement and use it as a hat...
Or create melodic symphonies.

Waikiki Spam Jam 2010!

Oh yeah!Once a year restaurants set up tents along the street and serve gourmet spam treats!
Some people are really festive.

All in all it was super hot and too crowded with long lines. But the food was good.
Like this fiesta spam crab dip!
And the spam chili that Hannah and Jarett got.
And spam sliders! All in all a good day!

Life's a Beach!

We finally had a sunny day so we went to Turtle Bay.You'll notice I'm embarrassingly white and pasty. It's been really rainy lately. Now that I'm done with school for the summer I plan to get out more.
At the end of the semester a lot of people move back to their home country or the mainland and huge "Free Piles" show up at the dorms apartments. I was lucky to find this cute cover-up. We also got a backpack, leather travel case, electric fan, books, and clothes.

This is at the beach across from the apartment.

Notice the drab, overcast sky.

Yay! The sun came out! (for about 5 minutes!)

Turtle Bay's Newest Addition

This is the new foal born at the Turtle Bay stables about two weeks ago.I took these pictures when it was just three days old.
Isn't it so cute?

It took a while to get these last two shots because every time I raised the camera the mama horse would turn and look at me as if to say, "Can we have a moment here?"
After a little while mama got tired of me hangin' around and I took the hint and left. Hopefully soon I can get pictures of the two awesome draft horses! And I'll post pictures of Gunstock Ranch where I work.
