Belly Pictures

Only rule: no making fun of my farmer tan. Remember I work on a ranch.

You can't really even tell that I'm pregnant when I'm wearing a normal t-shirt.

Or when I'm not wearing one. It's great because I can still get away with a bikini at the beach. But I still feel pretty fat and bloated. I'm used to having an exceptionally small waist.

This is me "pooching" it out as far as I can. It's painfully uncomfortable and I don't enjoy doing it (as my face gives away).

So as you can see, I'm still a couple weeks out from "showing".

Since I know mom likes to send Cody blog pictures, I've included some missionary friendly ones.

Fire Knife 2011

The competition tonight was AMAZING!!! It was 5 hours of fire spinning knife madness.
These are all photo's of one of our scouts, Alex Galaei. We will try to put up some video's of the others soon.

And yes he is the only one that night to preform with 3 knives, including the adults.

World fire knife championships

Tomorrow we are going to watch one of our scouts compete in the 2011 competition in the junior division. Pictures will come but to hold you over till then here is last years champion. At the end he does 4 knives at one time.

Here is a not on fire version of what he is twirling. And yes they are sharp, our scout constantly has some kind of new cut and or burn from practicing.

Run For the Roses

So here it is, my first attempt at a designer hat. And for the debut, what better locale than the Kentucky Derby? This creation by Skye is called "Run For the Roses".

Atop this magnificent creation sits the rose queen in all her majestic brilliance. The rose of course being the symbol of victory.

Below in the garden are her ladies in waiting. Gentle roses in full bloom amongst the brilliant foliage keeping watch over the garden and attending to their lady queen.

This brilliant creation is sure to please. So grab a mint julep and walk the red carpet, with this bold fashion statement you are ready to shine in the grand stand and on the track!

Computer woes

Sorry I haven't been very good at posting. I lost access to the university library when all my friends left in December (yes, I was using their student id's). The public library has a time limit (plus I don't always have cash for bus fare) so I don't get much posting done anymore. However, we have ordered a computer and it should be here on May 2nd. Also, when I go out to Utah Jake said he could fix my laptop that crashed about a year ago. A few "computer people" looked at it and said it was fine, there was nothing wrong with it, and there was no reason that it shouldn't work but none of the Einsteins could get it to work. Well geniuses, if it's not working then there's something wrong with it. Anyway, I trust Jake to have more intellectual capacity and will at least figure out what's wrong with it. We know it got a virus and what we can guess (neither Ryan or I being tech savvy) is that the virus ate up all the ram or memory or whatever word Ryan used. It slowly died over several months saying it didn't have enough memory to store stuff, then it didn't have enough memory to run programs, and finally after I had deleted all of my pictures, music, microsoft programs, etc. it says it lacks even the memory to load a user profile. It won't even log on to my desktop. It's useless. Annoying.
Anyway so when our new computer gets here (actually it's an I-pad 2 with wireless keyboard) I'll be able to post a lot more. Fun stuff like belly pictures and the world fireknife competition (one of my webelos is competing in the youth category!) and the wedding, etc.
Oops, time limits about to expire. Later!

Crazy life

I realize it's been a while since we've posted so here's what's been happening. It's difficult to keep a blog without a computer. We're still living in the same little studio and probably will be until September when our contract is up. We're still the Webelos den leaders, but they recently released us as primary teachers. This was a welcome change since they are now making Ryan the first counselor in the elder's quorum presidency whereas up until this point he has been serving as the secretary. I serve as the treasurer for our local public library which demands a small amount of my time. I've been staying pretty busy with work at the ranch and the play (that is finally over!). Ryan still works security at Turtle Bay and we both still love Hawaii! That's about it for us.
